3-DAY EXPO HIGHLIGHTED OUTSTANDING WORLD-CLASS PRODUCTS, SERVICES AND TECHNOLOGY FROM TAIWAN

Indonesia, 31 March 2018 – The three-day Taiwan Expo 2018, which ended today with a bang, not only brought Indonesian and Taiwanese together and sealed the deal for strengthening bilateral trade relations, it also profiled the East Asian nation’s products, services and technology as world-class.
Held at the Jakarta Convention Center (Hall A & B) here, both consumers and trade visitors were given an insight about more than 4,500 top Taiwanese products and services showcased by 230 exhibitors on the B2B platform as well as interactive platform for both two nations.
The 21,285 consumer and trade visitors were awed by the various pavilions, especially the eye-opening Taiwan Excellence, Halal and technology using green initiatives. Most importantly, the expo were amounting to potential businesses worth up to US 63.88 million dollars. On the last day of the expo, up to 1200 dancers joined the most exhibiting event – Taiwan Excellence Zumbafest be led by popular Zumba instructor Liza Natalia, together with Yuanita Christiani, a spokesperson for Taiwan Excellence in Indonesia.
During the stay of Mr. James C.F. Huang, Chairman of of Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the organizer of TAIWAN EXPO 2018 in Indonesia, TAITRA signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in a row with Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) and MNC Group for long term partnerships and cooperation on Industrial and Smart City developments.
TAIWAN EXPO 2018 is the second edition in Indonesia and is considered as an important milestone in the development of Taiwan’s bilateral trade relations with its neighboring countries. This came about with the implementation of Taiwan’s New Southbound Policy to create mutually beneficial partnerships with its new southbound partners. The expo is not only showcasing products, services and information but also creating platforms for Taiwan and Indonesia with further cooperation and interaction.
With this policy in mind, the Taiwan government has joined the latest slew of countries that are tapping on the voluminous global halal market by establishing the Halal Centre on April 21 last year to facilitate the establishment of a unified platform for promoting the country’s halal industry.
Other than trade business, Taiwan Education Center Indonesia also joined the expo with more than 200 families and children seeking more information on Taiwan’s Higher Education as the educational resources, teachers, programs and environments in Taiwan are preferably considered for most of the Indonesian.
